I'm very grateful to the Boater's Christian Fellowship for letting me have their data - I'm slowly converting it from Microsoft format to text. This is a huge resource, clearly a labour of love.
Jim Shead has generously allowed me to use data from his site. I was planning to put a marker in the data showing where each waterway's information came from, but as I continue to advance the project it is becoming clear that it is not possible to do this (for example, cross checking his BCN with mine, I would find we each had 8 places on one waterway, but only 6 were the same. The revised data would hold 10, but how do I give 20% credit?). So I'll just content myself with a very big "Thanks Jim!".
I've just discovered a greatly enhanced list of UK places at Nearby.org.uk. This takes me from just under 800 to over 14,000 places. I've had to change the code to cope with it (a simple search worked fine before, but now takes far too long)
Pub data for several canals (see the release notes for details) has come from Bob Harvey's site. Many thanks to him for letting me use this, it's saved me a lot of work.
Slipway information is taken, with permission, from boatlaunch.co.uk. There are almost no canalside slipways in this data - only river ones. If you know of canalside slipways please let both myself and boatlaunch know. There are 30 in the database so far (the majority on the Thames)
Obviously, there are lots of individual sites for particular places that I link to, but the following are linked to multiple times, and enhance the program as a whole.
